Debra Tinney

Debra Tinney is a Learning Technologist working at Teesside University’s Department for Learning Development and the Business School.

With a background in IT training Debra was interested in how technology could be used to support learning. After doing a BSc in Multimedia she joined Teesside University’s e-learning team in 2003 and has since worked on many projects and programmes across campus with both staff and students.

She’s delivered at numerous local, national and international conferences including EFYE, ALT-C and BbWorld to promote good practice within her field of e-learning and the use of technology to support learning and teaching.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2007 she has a particular interest in online quizzes, and their use for assessment and feedback, as well as the multifaceted use of audio, video and imagery for learning, teaching and assessment. She is currently involved in supporting the schools business engagement agenda.
