Javed Khan

Javed became Chief Executive at Victim Support in October 2010. He leads 1,500 staff across England & Wales, with 6,000 specially trained volunteers. The agency is the oldest and largest of its kind in the world, supporting 1.5 million victims and witnesses every year.

Prior to this, Javed was the Executive Director to the multi-agency London Serious Youth Violence Board, responsible for working across London’s key agencies and Whitehall departments to improve inter-agency working to drive down serious youth violence.

Previously Assistant Director of Education in Birmingham, in January 2004 Javed joined Harrow Council as Chief Education Officer. Originally a Maths teacher, he has 28 year’s experience of working in schools, sixth form and further education colleges, with ten years as a Chief Officer in local government, and more recently in the senior civil service.

Listed in the Asian Power100 publication in 2009, he is a member of The Skills for Justice Sector Skills Council, the Executive Board of Victim Support Europe and is a member of the Criminal Justice Council.
